Soni Bringas
Passion O Dance

Born in Portland, Oregon, USA, Soni loved
to dance as a young girl but not at first.
“I started dancing when I was five years old.
My mum put me in dance classes and I did
ballet and tap and I hated it,” she recalls.
Soni wanted to stop the lessons but her
mum made her finish off the year. “Strangely
enough over the next few months I started
enjoying it and I’ve been dancing ever
since.” Through her passion for dance, Soni
started landing television commercials and
gigs, and by the time she was a teenager she
was also taking part in competitive dance
challenges. “I would say hip hop is
my favourite style of dance. It is the style
I dance most often and the one I feel more
comfortable dancing.”

It wasn’t long before Soni made the

transition from dance to acting. “I started
acting at age ten when I moved to LA,”
she explains. “My favourite thing about
acting is being able to take on different
characters and imagining the situation
that your character is in. I just think it’s
really cool.” In 2016 Soni scored her
first major acting role when she was
cast on the Netflix series, Fuller House.

On Fuller House Soni plays Ramona
Gibbler. “Ramona and I have the sam
dance aspect,” says the star. “After I told
the casting directors I was a dancer, the
writers added that to my character.” Soni FULL NAME: Soni Nicole Bringas
