Egg Hunt

When someone said “GO!” at the egg hunt, I flew.
Gathered up eggs, yellow and blue.
Pink in the tall grass. Green in the clover.
Soon my basket was spilling over.
I saw a small boy who found only one.
By then the egg hunt was over and done.
He sat on the ground as sad as could be.
So I shared my eggs and he smiled at me.
