                                                                                                Hunting   archerfish can   squirt water to   the height of    2 m (6 1 ⁄2 ft).










           A jet of water squirted by the 20-cm  (8-in) long archerfish, can be shot high  enough to strike down its chosen  insect from overhanging branches.






















                               Archerfish have   another technique    for catching prey at  close range. They leap   right out of the water  to snatch their victim,  at times jumping twice  their body length.
