Happy Holidays!
A Special Message
from Division 6
Commander Joel E. Kaplan
I want to wish you all a very happy and safe holiday season. It’s been a pleasure
serving with you in 2018, and I anticipate another successful year for Division 6 next
year. Welcome to all newly elected and re-elected Flotilla Commanders and Staff
Officers.
This year we had two really great fourth cornerstone events: our annual picnic and a
day cruise aboard the Cutter Narwhal. It was good to have so many of you enjoy the
camaraderie that results from socializing outside the ‘normal’ Auxiliary programs.
While fellowship is one of our cornerstones, we never forget that we are a service
organization. Semper Paratus (Always Ready) to serve is certainly true for Division
6. It takes dedication, time commitments, and support from our families to be
successful in the Auxiliary. Many volunteer their boats, planes, and radios. We train
to become certified and more skilled and knowledgeable in our specialties and
mission areas.
Thank you to all the FC’s and SO’s for an outstanding year. Thank you to everyone
involved in all the VE’s, Boat Crew, PA events, Public Education classes, Program
Visitor visits, ATON patrols, Member Trainings, Operations, Diversity, and
Communications programs. And thanks to everyone who assisted these efforts
behind the scenes, in the IS, CS, HR, FN, MA, PB, and SR capacities. I appreciate
your continued support for Division 6. Our strength lies in our people and our
teamwork as a group.
My very best wishes to you and your family for health and prosperity in 2019.
REMINDER: Flotilla 06-02 Change of Watch Holiday Party is set for
Sunday, 09 Dec 18 at the Long Beach Yacht Club.
