           5.   Summon help with your VHF marine radio by calling out MAYDAY-MAYDAY-MAYDAY.

           If it’s an electrical fire and your VHF radio is out, consider having an EPIRB (emergency position indicating
           radio  beacon)  or  PLB  (personal  locator  beacon)  or  hand-held  VHF  radio.  Some  VHF  radios  have  an
           automatic emergency red button that can transmit your position and emergency for you if you have an FCC
           registered MMSI number.

           Request a courtesy US Coast Guard Auxiliary vessel examination at the beginning of every year to help
           prevent fires.
