Page 5 - 9 Requirements You Need to Know to Build Beautiful Websites
P. 5
Many people who have different views on having a business email address.
Some say it is crucial you have one and others really don’t see what the fuss
is about. As long as you have some sort of email what should it matter what
that email is?
Personally, I firmly believe that having a business email is very important.
Why?
One word - CREDIBILITY.
Not many things are more effective in
crushing your business’ credibility with
emails like “info@telkomsa.net” or
“companyname@gmail.com.”
I know it seems unfair to judge a business on its email address but the first
question that pops into my mind is – “How can they not afford about R100 a
month to get company emails, especially if they already have a domain
name? This doesn’t look very professional. Is their service or product even
reliable?”
I know that sounds harsh and judgmental, but that’s how a lot of people
think!
It’s not easy to build trust and gain credibility on the internet. Businesses that
use free email addresses do themselves a disservice. No matter how good
their product or service is, using free emails can be off putting. This creates
unnecessary doubt that you really don’t need – especially if you are starting
a new business.
So, long story short, if you are serious at building a website that can help you
attract new customers and grow your business, get a business email address
with your website domain name. It’s very easy (and cheap) to get set up.
Once you have a domain name, you can create a business email like
info@yourcompany.co.za or yourname@yourcompany.co.za.
