Vaishali Shriram Desai
Vaishali Shriram Desai is a contemporary artist by passion
and lives and works in Mumbai, India. Vaishali started
painting at a very young age; she took up painting more
consistently in her growing years and her art work is highly
inspired from her mother Pratibha Shriram Desai who
herself is a painter. As a child she received prizes for her innate
talent. She has an admiration for nature and culture and her
activities. She also enjoys unconditional support and
inspiration from her spouse Govind Manas Rawliya.
She enjoys doing different mediums like oil, acrylic, water
and mix media. She loves to experiment with colors, figures
and patterns. Her experimentation is the key, and she utilizes
art as a tool for the expression of ideas and thoughts. She is
highly influenced by rich heritage of Indian Art and Culture.
Her effervescent and colorful, rich and vibrant paintings pay
tribute to her vivacious native country.
Vaishali sees herself as an observer and primarily portrays
through her paintings the beauty of Indian Art and Culture
and the traditional way of life. In her paintings, people and
events from different eras and level of existence are brought
together in a sight outside the notion of time. Vaishali's
portrayal of rich art and cultural heritage is turned into
striking art work and paintings. Working in acrylic paints
and water colours she adds a bold colour palette and fluid
style to give her art work a presence that captures the essence
of the culture unrevealing Indian heritage in its most
enthralling quality.
