Poonam Anand

Poonam Anand is a fine emerging artist, graphologist, subconscious mind
reimprinting expert and a musician and an individual with abilities to
perceive and showcase the world filtered by her life experiences in pieces of
art . Born n bought up in the culturally rich city of Kolkata, her love for art
grew with age .She is proud to be a self taught artist as skills can be acquired
but her passion and grit is priceless. She has explored n experimented with
numerous mediums n styles like oil, water, pastels, charcoal, tanjore, phad,
warli, lithography, gold foil work, soft wood sculpture etc . At present she
mostly creates works in acrylic in realistic, abstract or contemporary style on
canvas. Her works with gold leafing has been extraordinary.
Her works are full of life, and they show an exceptional degree of hard work,
conceptual sophistication and a meditative symphony of brush strokes She
believes art is a passionate journey of the soul and if u dip the brush in your
soul n paint the canvas with feelings, Your journey will be long n successful.
She doesn't aspires to make a living through Art. She aspires to make a
difference. A difference with her thoughts, her views, and her works.
She has donated many paintings for various social causes and is currently the
veteran head for the Art Council of a non govt organization called Yeh Mera
India. And also the chairperson of Mumbai branch of YMI. She has done
shows in all major cities in India and also many cities abroad . Most of her
shows are held in Mumbai in galleries like Jahangir, Cymroza and Nehru
centre.
