A Sterile Processing Technician works to prepare, sterilize,
install, assemble, or clean all laboratory or healthcare equipment
required for surgeries, examinations, and medical procedures. The
Sterile Processing Technician ensures equipment, instruments, and
supplies can be reused safely to prevent infections.
LCCC offers two certificate programs that prepare you to work as
a Sterile Processing Technician. The program sequence starts in fall
and consists of two semesters of courses that include lecture, lab
and clinicals. Internship opportunities are available in the second
semester.
