Summer Fruit Brunch Pizza “From 2015 to 2017, heart disease was the second leading
cause of death [each year] for Lorain County women,” says
Dave Covell, MPH, RS, health commissioner at LCPH. “Wom-
en face unique health challenges that are important to address.
Gathering information and feedback from Lorain County wom-
en helps us plan future policies, programs and strategies. Our
goal is to reverse this trend and improve the overall health of
Lorain County women.”
The survey should take about 10 minutes. It has questions
about health knowledge and behaviors. Survey responses will
remain anonymous and findings will be made available to the
public.
The Lorain County Women’s Health Task Force formed
in November 2021 to improve the health of young and mid-
dle-aged women. LCPH facilitates the task force. It is com-
mitted to identifying strategies that will make a lasting impact
on the lives of women in our community. Members of the task
force include Buckeye Health, Cleveland Clinic Foundation,
Genesis House, Lorain County Community College, Lorain
County Family Planning, The LCADA Way, Mercy Health,
Neighborhood Alliance and University Hospitals. The Mater-
nal Program Grant, funded by the Ohio Department of Health,
supports the task force.
