Suicide Prevention programs
In Ohio, suicide is the 2nd leading cause of death for
10–24-year-olds. Every 1.94 days, on average, a young person
(ages 10-24) is lost to this “Silent Epidemic” of youth suicide.
Did you know that in 80% of suicide attempts, we have an op-
portunity to recognize the warning signs and intervene? Ob-
viously, the first thing you need to do, if you have not already,
is educate yourself on the problem and how to recognize and
assist at-risk youth.
The Jason Foundation has educational programs for adults,
specialized programs geared towards youth and social media
campaigns where you have the opportunity to get involved in
the fight against youth suicide. By visiting the Jason Founda-
tion website, you can take an enormous step to help fight the
Play Sets problem of youth suicide. There are things that you can do to
get involved with not only The Jason Foundation, but youth
suicide prevention and awareness as a whole.
