                                                                              A  teacher's  life  isn't  all  boring  and
                                                                              neither  is the time planning beforehand,
                                                                              as  proven  by  the  Future  Teacher's
                                                                              Association.  Though  this  was  the first
                                                                              year  for  the  club at Ralston  it  was  not
                                                                              inactive.    A  trip  to  Karen-Western
                                                                              School proved to be  very helpful as well
                                                                              as  interesting.  The  future  teachers
                                                                              got  to  observe  actual  classroom pro­
                                                                              cedures  in the  various fields  of educa­
                                                                              tion  they chose.  The  group also gave a
                                                                              tea  for  a visiting teacher  from  Brazil
                                                                              and  teachers  of  the  Ralston  Public
                                                                              School  System.  In turn a  tea  was  given
                                                                              in  their  honor  by  the  faculty  to  wind
                                                                              up  a  successful  year  for  the  F.T.A.

         A  busy  year  has  added  many  credits
         to the list for the Future Homemakers of
         America.  Participating in a  state  pro­
         ject  they collected books for  homeless
         children    and  their  contribution  was
         given to the St.  James Orphanage. They
         also  collected  gifts  and  clothes     at
         Christmastime  for  a motherless fami­
         ly.  Helping  the  Student  Council  on the
         nationwide Save  the Children project is
         also  added to their  list  of accomplish­
         ments.  The  club was  well represented
         at  the  Officers  Workshop  in  Lincoln,
         the  District  Convention  in  Lyons,  and
         the  State  Convention  in Lincoln during
         the  course  of  the  year.  For  the  first
         time  since the birth  of  the  club,  four
         members earned their  Junior Degrees.
         These  girls  are Laura Tubbs, Margaret
         Thomas,      Donna  Grime,  and  Sandy
         Yarbrough.
