onning his new costume for the first time,
“the all-star player” is formally introduced at
the Pensacola game. The first appearance of
the new mascot brought an added dimension
to the Animals and the cheerleaders. As
president of the freshman class, Fayez
Ayoub may have started a tradition for class
presidents — that’s if he wishes to pass
down the duty to future freshman presidents.

F reshman Ken Howell didn’t lose any time in
becoming active in the “Animal Kingdom.”
Ken, along with several of the other Animals,
spent many hours painting spirit flags to be
used at home games. They were used to help
the cheerleaders excite the crowd and to lead
the fans in spirited chants.
