Jn 1893 Trinity's colors were changed from
black and white to blue and orange. The TSAA,
Trinity School Athletic Association, ran the
entire athletic program of the school, charging
admission to all non-members and determining
who was to receive letters and which one of
the various kinds. Their symbol, pictured above,
was a triangle signifying Trinity and the wings
signifying spirit and endurance.
In addition to the baseball already mentioned,
there is little record of any athletic activity prior
to the nineties. Even in that sport it was not
until the present coach that superior teams were
produced. Tennis was another early sport. It
probably came in just prior to 1890. The follow
ing item is from an edition of the School news
paper for 1892. “The Lawn Tennis season has
now opened and we hope to see some of our
boys distinguish themselves in this branch of
athletics.’’ Now and then one did come along
Calisthenics at the turn of the century.
