-An urge to be free of school hassles.

The eighth hour release was offered only to the
senior class beginning in ’84-’85. Grabbing the ------------
opportunity was almost a must to the seniors. Why
then were they seen around the school from 2:23 to
3:08?
Kathy Vetter answers, “I wanted an eighth hour
release, but there are things I do after school. It’s
knowing that I don’t really have to be here that makes

To accommodate the released students and allow Bryan Schertz
them to remain in the building, permanent hall passes
were offered. Each student desiring one (29 all
together) had to apply to Mrs. Novak in the office. -----------
Staying in the school also could have been for
other reasons. One being just to let other students in
class know who was already out.
