The 1977-78 Homecoming is one that will
always be remembered; with the crowning
of senior Beth Morris as Homecoming
Queen and the 13-0 football victory over
Pennsbury.
Selection of Homecoming candidates be­
gan on October 16, with the seniors choosing
two girls whom they wished to be Home­
coming Queen. On October 19, six girls hav­
ing the most votes were put on a ballot and
the Class of ’78 was asked to vote again,
choosing from those six the one they
wished to be Queen. The nominees were.-
Mary Jo Bugyi, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Frank Bugyi of Bristol; Lori Longstreet,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Longstreet
of Levittown-, Avonda Nelson, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. David Nelson of Levittown;
Crystal Miller, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Bass Miller of Bristol; Beth Morris, daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Lemke of Levittown;
and Cheryl Anne Synder, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Raymond Snyder of Croydon. Dur­
ing halftime proceedings Beth Morris was
announced as the Delhaas Homecoming
Queen for 1977-78.
Many floats were entered in the halftime
show. The groups that participated were:
the senior class, the junior class, the sopho­
more class, the Italian club, and the
N.J.R.O.T.C.. The winning prize of $40.00
was awarded to the sophomore class, whose
float was entitled "Tiger Fever".
The Tiger football team strengthened
their record by romping (13-0) over the al­
ways powerful Pennsbury Falcons. The vic­
tory over Pennsbury gave Delhaas seniors a
very successful and memorable Homecom­
ing.
The senior football players and their par­
ents were honored before the game. This
was their final Delhaas Homecoming and a
rewarding one at that. The senior members
were as follows: Dave Adams, Phil Beitz,
Tom Beswick, John Betchker, Mike Colby,
Bob Costantini, Don Engle, Mike Fabbro.

Mark Reid, Mark Salvitty, Mike Smith, Jeff
