A week later on May 15, the senior class strode across
the platform at Ruth Eckerd Hall, accepting their diplomas
as symbols of years of education, discipline, and hard work.
Guest speaker Dr. Dave Jaspers congratulated the seniors
for their accomplishments, but he also challenged them to
accept God’s purging in their lives. He reminded them,
“When God chooses to place us in the process of purging, He
does it for [our] good.” He also added, “If you are faithful in
abiding in Christ, He will bear fruit in your lives.”
