ONFORM. People conform to some type of
honor code. Without even thinking about their
actions, they quietly pattern their lives after someone else.
Gradually, the ideas and values of others can become their
own. Christians have the ultimate pattern to follow, the
Lord Jesus Christ. Romans 12:2 states, “And be ye not
conformed to this world, but be ye transform ed by the
renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that
good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God.”
Believers in Christ were first called Christians because
they were “Christ-like’’-they were different. A visitor can
say the same about students at the college, for an air of unity
and character permeates the campus. There is a visual dif
ference from the world, as well as an invisible one-a differ
ence of the heart. Students are different because they are
striving to conform themselves to Christ and not to the world.
As students place more time and focus on this objective, they
begin to reflect what being Christ-like means.
