Dear Reader:
As we, the Causeway staff, labored this year under the pressure of inexorably approaching yearbook deadlines, I
truly believe we managed to keep in mind the real reason we were putting this book together. Yes, we remember losing
track of a whole box of photographic paper at one time, double-exposing an entire roll of film, and making a deadline
with only five minutes to spare. But we also remember why the yearbook was being published; not only for you, the
individual, not only for the College as a whole, but for the Lord.
The Causeway serves two purposes: it is a memory book for the student and a means of introducing the College to
new friends. To put a book together that fulfills both of these requirements, and fulfills them well, is no small project.
We sincerely hope that these purposes have both been accomplished in this edition of our yearbook.
I would especially like to give my thanks to Miss Sue Seidelmann for the beautiful art work on the cover, to Mrs.
Jean Macfarlane and Miss Diane Engel for their assistance and advising, to the long-suffering ladies in the Admissions
Office, Mrs. Michelle Rickett and Miss Ruth Day, who did more than their share in compiling lists of all sorts, and
especially to those dedicated staff members who sacrificed time and energy to make this book, the 1979 Causeway, the
very best book they could make it.
“But let all those who put their trust in Thee rejoice; let them ever shout for joy, because Thou defendest them; let
those also who love Thy name be joyful in Thee.” Psalm 5:11 _
