community know sophomore Drew
Bamberger as a continuously smiling,
positive, hard-working, and pleasant individual; however, if
you have only known_Drew for a few years, you may be
unaware of marry additional unoue aspects of his life.
Just a few days before his first grade year at St. Pius X
Elementary School was to come to a close, Drew was at a
friend's house and decided to take a ride o n a mountairLbike
for the first time: before he knew it, he was flying dowirJns
friend's steep driveway, veered off into the woods, and slammed head-orunto a tree. Drew
was immediately sent to Childrens Hospital inMincinnati, Ohio, where his parents received
some seemingly unbearable news; Drew had suffered a serious head injury that would keep
him at Childrens Hospital for the next month.
Hiring' that moirtlr, Drew oyickly begat l to heal, pleasantly surprising his doctors, nurses,
and other caregivers. A s fie grew stronger, Drew's closest friends began.visiting him and
keeping him company. His miraculous recuperatioruvent so well that Drew returned to St.
Pius X irLthe fall to start second grade, with only a few scars to show for his frightening
experience.
Following his accident, Drew picked up right where he left off, hanging out with friends
and playing sports. For several years, Drew played knothole baseball for the Mall Chrysler
Jeep Red Raiders, as well as, onsevcral of the St. Pius X grade school league basketball
teams. Later, he started to focus onJootball and spent numerous summer nights practicing
and playing for the Raiders.
Now indus Sophomore year, Drew enjoys JBL arxi his love for CCH football has led him
to a spot o i l the football team. Drew's other interests include Student Senate, the Spanish
Club, and enjoying time with friends arxi family. He is also very active irucommunitv service.
To top it all off, Drew Bamberger is knowixby many as ‘the kid who never stops smiling."
If anyone carx attest to the statement that every single day is a gift, it is definitely Drew
Bamberger.
