afternoon, and on the custodial staff at night are the jobs
that Mwendi does each week. Those hours add up to about
25 hours a week. She is diligently able to balance the work
from her classes and her jobs.
Mwendi grew up in a preacher’s home and admits
that before she was saved she was very rebellious towards
how she was reared. She did not get saved until her second
year of high school when she realized she was lost because of
her inability to understand and defend the Word of God.
After graduating with a degree in Math, Mwendi plans to
pursue her masters in engineering and eventually work for
an international organization. This would give her an

The person she most admires is her mom. Erin says
that her mom “virtually raised us by herself because my dad
was in the Navy for the first seventeen years of their
marriage. She always made sure we were in church, and that
we knew what was right and wrong. She is an amazing
person. I love her dearly and admire her for her strength.”
