October 31-Most people recognize the day
as Halloween, and they fail to remember a
critical event that impacted the course of
history. What is commonly known as Refor
mation Day changed the entire direction of
Christianity. When Martin Luther nailed the 95 Theses
to the door of the Castle Church in Wittenberg, Ger
many, it was as if he was beginning to nail shut the cof
fin of the dominance of the Roman Catholic Church.
The effects of the tide of the Reformers that swept * .
through Europe can still be felt today.
While the Reformation had a profound impact
on lives, so has the Bible faculty. Ryan Stewart said,
“Our Bible faculty has helped me more than I could
ever be able to express, partly because of the diversity in
teaching styles and personalties of the teachers. I have
never had a teacher who has shown more love, care, and
devotion to his students in matters of faith and
education than Mr. Carver. Whether he’s helping you
better understand a concept in the Bible or meeting
with you once a week to pray with you, it is easy to see
how much he loves his students. There has never been

another person who has so greatly challenged me to
think systematically and biblically than Dr. Ebert.

More than that, he has challenged me tremendously in

the area of missions through his zeal for evangelism

building friendships. Dr. Delnay, as exemplified in his
course on Romans, showed me that Scripture should be
read and interpreted as a whole, instead of as pieces. I
realize that the work that has been wrought in my life is
entirely of the Lord’s doing, but in doing so, He greatly
used these godly men to encourage and strengthen me
in His service, as He has for many others.” L < - - -
