Jankunas Tops Bradach

The 1978 All-Germany Cross Coun­
try championships were held on the
tough Heidelberg course. Bitburg’s
teams made fine showings as runners
were in top form for the event. Alan
Jankunas won the European individual
championship as he defeated the best
from every school in Germany. Brian
Foster ran first for the Barons in the JV
men’s race. Tami Lollis was first for the
Baronettes. The All-Germany run-off
proved to be a fine finish for Bitburg.
Following the Heidelberg run, top run­
ners from each of the district runs were
invited to K-Town for the All-Europe
event. Paul Holland and Jankunas
were the only Barons to qualify for that
event.
