A world of feral cats, mutant squirrels, and ferocious panthers
Where all walks of life gather around a lake whose colors change as fast as a mood ring

And 18 years of age gives you senior privileges, not from the AARP
A place where the national anthem is a Beatles song, projected from a bell tower twice a day,

in between showtunes.
A land of religious cults determined by athletic participation
Where a foreigner is our national Hunk

and time stopped in the 80s

A world where Spiderman is the lead singer, mulch is a common enemy, and students roller-skate to class
A terrain of pink concrete and bricks, dotted with bronze domes and miniature swimming pools that shoot water into the sky.
Where the quantity of 21MPH, 100495, and 6-3-2005 calculate our existence.

A world of khaki pleats, librarian centerfolds, and "All Kinds of People"
A land of stark white gazebos, security men who steal computers, and “Oom Shanti Shanti”
Where crossword puzzles and coloring books are taken seriously.

And PCP isn’t drug related.

Because when the “Saved by the Beir set exploded, and Mrs. PacMan ate the

fragments, a whole new genre of creatures evolved.

And I was one.

He claimed he already knew.
