Dear Gabrielle

Unknowingly, your mother and I chose your name before we realized
the struggles you would need to endure as a baby in order to survive.
The biblical meaning of your name is, “The Lord is my strength.” The
strength, indomitable spirit, and determination you showed during your
early years went on to become a part of who you are today.

It is with great joy that I have witnessed the blossoming of a beautiful
flower into a caring, thoughtful, and loving young lady. Continue to
follow the beat of your own heart in all that you do, and know that your
sister and I will always love and support you. The road beyond high
school will be challenging, but also rewarding and fun. The dedication,
talent, and pride you have spent all of the last four years perfecting will
serve you well in college and in life. Always remember where you
come from and your mother’s incredible strength. You are truly a joy in
our lives, and you will be a joy in the lives of all those whom you are
yet to meet. Congratulations and may God bless you always.
