ft hadn’t had a hurricane day in over two years,  ft was destined to arrive. Yet
                           still much to the school’s dismay, and my overwhelming joy, we hit the mother load of all
                           things hurricane:  we were battered with not one, not two, not three, but FOUR storms.
                           But while I was basking in the glory that was no power, canned food, and hours of
                           putting up hurricane shutters for one full week, cities just to the north and south of our
                           seemingly indestructible little town were being destroyed in comparison, by record

                           breaking winds and rain.
                                                                         Yes, we missed a lot of class days and yes, the
                                                                 administration was cursing Charlie, Frances,* Jeanne,
                                                                  and Ivan. But in ttye end, we figure destiny has run out
                                                                  of things for us to dodge. And as they say, when life
                                                                  throws you hurricanes, put up shutters and hope for
                                                                  the best.
