Totally New World
For most freshmen, coming to college is
the biggest change they have ever made.
They seem pushed into a whole new and
completly different world of uncertainty
and unfamiliarity. The sometimes
overwhelming feelings of lonliness,
depression, and homesickness are just a
few common traits manifested in this stage
of life. Although some freshmen try to
make it on their own strength, most
realize that there is someone waiting for
them with open arms. The Heavenly
Father takes this opportunity to open a
brand new chapter in their spiritual life.
He waits to draw nigh and provide His
special peace. Through group devotions,
freshmen learn new songs of praise, hear
testimonies of others, and get acquainted
with the needs of their new family through
prayer requests and praises.
Good friends are hard to find, but both Maureen
Chavarri and Elisa Cancel had a much easier fresh
man year because of their good friendship and con
cern for one another.
