"ENTERTHEYOUNG”

                                                     Dear Graduates,

Commencement symbolizes your personal conquest of the many social
and academic challenges that you have faced in the past twelve years. The
educators of Bristol Township have tried to provide you with every feasible
avenue for personal development inside and outside of the classroom. We
hope that you took full advantage of these opportunities.

Now you must steel yourselves to face the challenges of a complex and of
tentimes violent world. Instead of revolting against everything offered you by
Mr. Frank Daly the "older” generation, could you look at the works of our generation as a
Principal phase which you must perfect rather than destroy?

Those who went before you wanted change as intensely as you do. Within a
short span of time they increased your life expectancy by fifty percent, while
cutting the working day by a third. The older generation drove the killers —
influenza, typhus, diptheria, small pox, polio, tuberculosis and hordes of oth
                                                     er diseases into hiding.

Because of the constructive “ revolutionists” of the past, you have better
food to eat, finer clothes to wear, a more comfortable home to live in, and
better schools to attend. You find yourselves surrounded by electronic, me
chanical and medical wonders which save you time and effort.

Yes, those of us who represent the “ older” generation have failed to defeat
poverty, cure the sore of racism and we have yet to find a just and effective
alternative to war. We are weary and reeling from fighting these awesome
                                                     problems.

Now is the time for you, the young, to enter the fray and make the world a
better place to live for your children and the children of mankind.

                                                                          Sincerely,
                                                                          Frank Daly
