rowing up in a military family, she has
lived abroad in Japan, Philippines, and
Morocco. While attending Clearwater
Christian College, she met her
husband, and they were married in
June 1974. She later was graduated in
December 1979.
She has worked for the College
since January 1980, serving as
Confidential Assistant to the
President. Her responsibilities include
planning the President's schedule,
making travel arrangements, setting
up appointments, and handling all
correspondence. In addition to these
duties, Mrs. Lynn Smith is the office
manager and systems operator for the
new computer system.
The Smiths enjoy travelling,
and Gatlinburg is one of
their favorite places to visit.
They have been making an­
nual trips to the Tennessee
mountains for several years
As President Youstra often
says, “Meet the person who
runs the college!” Although
she usually responds with a
negative shake of her head,
Mrs. Smith is kept extremely
busy with all her adminis­
trative duties. She is draw­
ing a chart for a board re­
port using her new
software. As systems oper­
ator and office manager,
she also assists the other
confidential assistants and
secretaries with their com­
puter “problems.
to see the leaves change in
the fall. Dr. and Mrs. Smith
spent part of the 1994
Christmas season with her
parents, who also live in the
Clearwater area.
