Alumni, Development, Public Relations



















































                  Mr. Walter  Kurtz,  Director of  Development, Alumni and  Public  Rela­
                  tions,  reads  over  one  of  the  news  items  concerning  Saint  Thomas
                  Academy  graduates.  One  of  the  many  facets  of  the  Public  Relations   Mrs.  Eileen  Probst,  Mr.  Kurtz's  assistant,  works  in  all  areas  of  devel­
                  O ffice  is  the  posting  of  newspaper  clippings  pertaining  to  Saint
                  Thomas  and  its  Alumni.  Mr.  Kurtz  must  also  send  out  about  thirty   opment,  alumni,  and  public  relations.  The  development  section  is
                  news  releases  a  year  and  maintain  public  opinion  both  inside  and   mainly  concerned  with  recruiting students,  fund-raising,  and  better­
                                                                              ment  of  the  school.  She  often  sends  Academy  seniors  back  to  their
                  outside of the Academy.

                                                                                                   must  keep  track  of  some  5,080  alumni,
                                                                                                   because  over  one  quarter  of  our  alumni
                                                                                                   change  address  every  year.  These  alumni
                                                                                                   are  constantly  being  inform ed  of  news
                                                                                                   concerning  the  Academ y  through  news
                                                                                                   letters,  the  Headmaster's  Annual  Report,
                                                                                                   the  Citation,  and  a  regular  publication  of
                                                                                                   the  Alumni  Office,  the  St.  Thomas  Acade­
                                                                                                   my Bulletin.
