The answer is “D”, none of
the above. These are popular,
hut by far, the most popular
extra-curricular activity at
Allentown College is Intramural
Athletics.
The intramural program’s popular
ity was exemplified in ’87-’88 by the 31
teams and 318 athletes who participated
in the Fall, and by the 41 teams and 451
athletes who participated in the Spring Semes
ter. These athletes were involved in a variety of
sports, both co-ed and in their particular sex.
The 1987-88 intramural year was one of change.
— Robin King became the new Intramural Athletic
Director,
— a women’s flag — football league was started,
— the inaugural “Open Rec. Night” was held,
— a one day co-ed tennisw tournament was held,
— a Saturday indoor wiffle ball tournament was held
— the men’s and women’s intramural committees laid the foun
dation for new intramural athletic bylaws.
With these changes and the continued emphasis on intramurals,
it is safe to say that intramurals will always he the safest and most
popular way to spend one’s free time at Allentown College.
