We’ve come
a long way in
four years at Al
lentown College.
The Class of 1988
may recall the way it
was in September 1984
and realize how many
changes took place along the
way to May 1988. We’ve seen
changes both in the campus it
self and in our relationships with
each other. Most importantly, we
face changes in ourselves and realize
that, as graduating seniors, we have
made a lot of progress since freshman
orientation.
The many additions and changes on campus
mark our growth. We’ve added the walls at the
Landis Mill Road entrance, the benches outside
McShea, a new set of houses at College Heights, the
Gallery Lounge, the Founders’ Room, and the Trex-
ler Library. We’ve changed DeSales Hall to Dooling
Hall, created “the vault” in Tocik, renovated Cafe Mc
Shea and the snack bar, moved the Learning Center and
the game room, and even computerized registration.
The people around us have changed as much as the campus has.
Many friends, professors, and staff members have left A.C.,
while many new people have arrived. Even those who have been
here all four years have changed by sharing the struggles and joys of
college life. We’ve found many new friends and said goodbye to many
others.
Through all of the changes, we’ve also made progress as individuals. Our
opportunities for growth and maturation have brought us to the point of
commencement. As we recognize the differences between “the way it was and
the way it is,” we may also realize the unlimited potential for “the way it will be.
