MINSTREL
I’HISTOIRE
UNVEILED
L’Histoire has been unveiled and seems
to be for the most part, fine initial effort.
It is worthy of some amount of praise, al
though it is not without its shortcomings.
Paging through, one begins to notice a
few items missing and whether this is an
oversight on the part of the staff or a lack
of interest on the part of the organizations
has yet to be determined.
Numbered among the missing are Eta
Theta Gamma, Lamda Omega Chi and
Alpha Chi Delta. The spring intercolle
giate sports have also been overlooked as
have been social functions both on and off
campus.
On the other hand there seems to be an
unwarranted large number of pages devot
ed to construction which although impor
tant, could have been handled in two or
three pages. Likewise, it seems as if the
faculty section is lengthier and has more
candids than the sections devoted to stu
dents and activities. I am not of the opin
ion that the faculty is undeserving of space
in a college yearbook, but the students in
i reality are interested in seeing themselves,
rather than the faces they stare at all day
in the classroom (“Damn good point,” Fr.
Luyster).
On the whole, as I said before, it de
serves praise, praise not only for being the
first, but also for its choice of song seg
ments and poems instead of the usual clar
ifying vebage.
