■Sara Lantz on the Beach Party.
Lantz: "I was dancing ... there was a D.J. going and he was playing
probably a dance/rap song. It's either one of two dances and I can't
think of which one it was. I was probably doing the Guard Time. It's
like the bus stop, but it's different. It was started by the Railmen
Drum, Bugle Corp ... so it was Guard Time.
What kind of music was played there?
Lantz: "Everything... They played anything from the Beach Boys to
Heavy Metal. . . I had a great time.
What kind of activities did they have there?
Lantz: Volleyball. There wasn't any sand on the volleyball court
because the sand wouldn't reach that far; they also had drinks you
could buy, and they had, well it turned into a water fight, it wasn"t
suppossed to be one but it turned into one. They sold the water guns
and so people started squirting each other and throwing people into
the pools and stuff that were there. We also had a limbo contest... We
thought it was going to rain. It was lightning and stuff, but it didn't!
It got kind of windy and cold other than than that it was great."
Why do you think it was so much fun?
Lantz: Well, we don't get to dance much and I love to dance so it was
a lot of fun for me, you got to see a lot of people too, because it was
at the begining of the year.
