Ralston students make a great
e ffo rt every year to give back to the
community. Even without the com
munity sendee outcome required
to graduate, our students stay so
involved in activities it's hard not
to notice them assisting in every
event. One msjor experience that
many sophomores, juniors and se
niors apply for in the fall is being an
Outdoor Ed Counselor. Over four
weekends, four groups of eager high
school students bond with kids from
Ralston elementary schools. Often
the counselors are working with kids
from their former elementary school
including Wildewood, Meadows, Sey
mour and Rloomf ield. Tie students'
responsibilities include supervising,
leading and participating in games,
and creating memorable moments for
everyone. They had to instruct the
campers in the challenge courses and
earn their tru s t on the high-rise. With
campfres, smores, and stories by
the fire, the Outdoor Ed program was
nothing short of a great three days
and a chance for Ralston students to
interact with the community.
