                                                                                 Ralston students make a great

                                                                         e ffo rt every year to give back to the
                                                                         community. Even without the com­

                                                                         munity sendee outcome required

                                                                         to graduate, our students stay so
                                                                          involved  in activities it's hard not

                                                                         to notice them assisting  in every
                                                                         event. One msjor experience that

                                                                         many sophomores, juniors and se­
                                                                         niors apply for in the fall  is being an

                                                                         Outdoor Ed Counselor. Over four

                                                                         weekends, four groups of eager high
                                                                         school students bond with kids from

                                                                         Ralston elementary schools. Often
                                                                         the counselors are working with kids

                                                                         from their former elementary school

                                                                          including Wildewood, Meadows, Sey­
                                                                          mour and Rloomf ield. Tie students'

                                                                          responsibilities include supervising,
                                                                          leading and participating  in games,

                                                                          and creating memorable moments for

                                                                          everyone. They had to  instruct the
                                                                          campers in the challenge courses and

                                                                          earn their tru s t on the high-rise. With
                                                                          campfres, smores, and stories by

                                                                          the fire, the Outdoor Ed program was

                                                                          nothing short of a great three days
                                                                          and a chance for Ralston students to

                                                                          interact with the community.
