Si. John's Prep Pep Rally

it council and athletic teams sponsored a pep rally
on Friday, December 1, 1995. To compliment the event our
theme was "Spirit Day." The excitement of the rally was evi­
dent by the large amount of students present, the sea of red
and white, and the sounds of students cheering their teams
on.
The event started as Father Ray recited a prayer blessing the
teams and students. Next Mr. Higgins and the members of the
student council executive board held the annual raffle draw­
ing. The lucky winner of the $5000.00 was Nola Speano.
Immediately following these events was the half court free
throw by the four students representing each class. Finally the
big moment . . .
The coaches began introducing the athletic teams to the gym
full of anxiously awaiting students. The teams presented were:
Tennis, Soccer, Basketball, Softball, Bowling, Swimming,
Track, and a spirited performance of the Varsity and Junior
Varsity Cheerleading squad. Music was provided by the sym­
phony band and members of the Jazz Rock Association. It was
a day of excitement that will live in our memories for years to
come.
