In Loving Memory
Pete Larson Dan Whitlock Brad Hanson
Morning headline, one more dead
Barely drags you out of bed
Chalk it up to one more loss
The tragedy for you, no cost
Then read the names and see the face
Now it's more a bitter taste
This wasn't just a background actor
More like a main character
A friend of yours, someone known
Could it be they're really gone
Pale and dazed, you have a seat
Losing feeling in your feet
It can't be, this isn't true
This was someone that you knew
Now they're gone, forever dead
But then remember what was said
"Come to me; I'll give you life."
Those the words of Jesus Christ
No more suffering, no more pain
What's our loss is His gain
We shouldn't mourn, but celebrate
Another passes through the gate
Angels gather, shout "Hurray!"
He is with the Lord today
