F o r many y e a r s , the c o m m e r c i a l banks of Upper Pinellas County,

F lo rid a have supported the various organizations and p r o je c ts through­

out the com m unity through the purchase of tickets, advertising a n d /o r

donations. During this time, the num ber of requests fo r financial

support has in c r e a s e d to such prop ortion s that we find o u r s e lv e s in

the position of having to weigh individually the m e r its of each, a c c e p t ­

ing s o m e and refusing oth ers. B e ca u se of this in con sisten cy, the

en orm ou s number of requests and dollars involved, the following fir m

policy has been adopted by B ankers' Council, c o m p r i s e d of all the

c o m m e r c i a l banks in Upper Pinellas County. Donations, either direct

or in the f o r m of sp o n so rs h ip s, ticket purchasing or advertising, can

be made only to r e c o g n iz e d organizations having as their sole purpose,

p r o g r a m s of benefit to the entire com m unity, and m ust be submitted

in writing, and on f o r m s provided by the Council, to the bank of whom

the solicitation has been m ade.
