Usually when one hears the word victorypwe
W in k s o f th e final outcome; but: there is more
to victory. The concept of victory encom
passes performance and testimony. Victory in
performance is the way one plays the game. If
an athlete performs to his fullest extent, win or
lose, he is victorious. Victory in an athlete’s
testimony is also important. If an athlete has a
poor attitude, the other team sees that and the
athlete's testimony is weakened. In 1 Corinthi
ans 15:57, Paul evidences the source of victory:
"But thanks be to God, which giveth us the vic
tory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” Some claim
victory is a result of the hard work andtrain-

ing that goes into having a successful season.
These things are certainly important, but noth
ing can be achieved without the grace of God.
