Forty-six students, staff, and alumni from the college said yes to God’s
call to go to China. Team members were at four locations in China where
they experienced God’s working in their lives. They developed relationships and
shared about the God they serve. Some team members returned to teach at
Mount Royal Institute, a place where many relationships had previously been
formed. Mrs. Lynn Smith said, "The best part about returning to Mount Royal
was spending time with friends from previous years."
Dr. Dwight McEntire said, “We had 42 students in our class ranging
from medical doctors to recent college graduates just entering the teaching pro
fession. During our stay, we had many opportunities to share out faith with
these students.”
Eleven members had the opportunity to work in an orphanage, a new
location for Team China. They spent many hours a day teaching and cultivating
relationships with orphans who barely spoke English. Nathan Lewis said, "I
had been asking God to give me the opportunity to give a Bible to one of my
students, and the evening before we left I was able to give one to a girl named
Elelen."
Two team members had the opportunity to go to Xide, a city that has
not had foreign teachers in thirty years. Joy Wasmundt said, “I started to see my
kids not just as cute faces, but as lost souls in need of a Savior.”
While ministering, Team
China had several opportu
nities to be a blessing. Giv
ing ice cream to a child who
never smiled and seeing her
smile, spending time with
children in their homes, or
making crafts in class are
just part of the blessing.
