Semester
vents
Each semester there are a few
events which make staying in
school worthwhile. Some are, like
this year’s Mr. A. C. contest,
unique to that semester. Others
are tradition. Take the Waldheim
— or its more official name of
SAO Dance. Originally, it was
held semi-annually at the
Beethoven-Waldheim in Allen
town. The upstairs housed a band
or DJ and a dance floor. Down
stairs was the bar. But with its
popularity, the Waldheim got too
crowded, and people had to be
turned away. So the SAO girls
rented out a banquet room at the
Holiday Inn West so there could
be unlimited attendance. And
there usually is. It’s a time to
dress up and party — with a date
or with your friends. This tradition
gets us away from our own little
utopian campus and places us in
a new environment which, for that
short while, we thrive on. But after
that evening, there is nothing
more looked forward to than
crawling back to the dorm rooms,
and snuggling up for a long, long,
long, nap.
