       Dear Diary,
Well — I’m here at college. It’s not
even labor day — I just want to be
down the shore working on my tan.
Instead, I’m at some place called
Center Valley. I can’t believe my
parent’s dropped me off here in the
sticks — it’s all surrounded by rows
and rows of corn fields and open
ground — Yeah, that’s right, Center
Valley — I’m not even sure if it’s on
the map — and all I have to remind
me of Phi I ly is an old PHILLIES
baseball cap and a ticket stub from a
Genesis concert at the Spectrum. I
guess this means I’m on my own —
just me and my favorite pink stuffed
       elephant.
I spent the whole day listening to
       people lecture and lecture —
       BORING! Everyone kept talking
about how I would be a true Christian
Humanist when I leave here — I’m so
       confused — I thought I was Ukrainian
Catholic. Oh — and they already gave
us homework. They want us to try and
figure out what these three gigantic
       hunks of wood are outside
somewhere. I don’t know what they
are but somebody better fix them
soon cause I think they’re falling!
The people here seem pretty nice I
       guess. Everyone just walks around
with these nervous smiles saying ‘Hi,
where are you from?’ It gets a little
       crazy always repeating the same
stuff over and over. My roommate —
       she’s okay — when she’s not crying
that is. She just keeps mumbling
       something about her boyfriend at
home and how she hates the food
       here.
Word has it that there’s supposed
to be a party at the “ Bethlehem
House.” I don’t even know where
Bethlehem is and I’m sure there is
Top: Judy Adamchack is the only one
more than one house there! Oh well
ready for more.Above: Trisha Boyle and
       — I guess I better find the box with Barry Schnepf. Far Right: Ed Marshall
my clothes in it. Until tomorrow . . . and his hypnotizing way with women.
