What began as a vision became a college with a little under
600 students, four residence halls, a library, two classroom
buildings, a dining common, a gymnasium, and even a cafe.
These buildings in and of themselves are simply concrete
and mortar. Yet when viewed beyond the

of individuals who were willing to trust the
Lord to work the unseen, the seemingly im

Steele stepped out on faith, putting aside

fears and daunting circumstances, and forged
ahead, convinced of the rightness of found
ing a college in the Tampa Bay area that would serve as a
lighthouse to the community. As Mrs. Lynn Smith said,
“The Lord was faithful and brought the college all that it
needed in His time.” And in His time and according to His
plan, the college will continue to grow and provide a Christ-
centered, liberal arts education to students who want to
love God, fear Him, and serve Him more.
