condescending or patronizing and of presenting his topics in fresh

ways that challenge my thinking.” Students are thrilled that Dr.

David Horton
In his first week as “campus chaplain,” Dr. Burggraff immedi
ately began making changes to the chapel setting in order to create
a closer, more intimate atmosphere. Dan Thompson said, “I can
already see how having one person responsible for chapel has made
a difference in adding structure and organization to the hour we
spend hearing God’s Word.”
Dr. Burggraff also spent the week speaking about matters that
hit close to home for most students. “To hear a man who is so
dedicated to his family and to the Lord is very encouraging. He is
the model of a godly father I would like to be someday,” David
Horton said. “He also has a very healthy view of Christianity and of
the rules and policies of CCC. He is real and genuine and people
are attracted to someone like him. With his contagious enthusiasm
and energy, I believe that he will benefit CCC tremendously.”
