Coach Dwight McEntire second in the tournament.
Members playing at the Re
gional Tournament were
Aaron Dahl, Joshua Manter,
Justin White, Corey Will
iams, and Bryan Wyllie.
Golf is the game where the person with the lowest score
wins, where spectators respond with the polite “golf clap”
instead of raucous cheering, and where the player’s biggest
competitor is himself.
The team is composed of ten members, but only five
are allowed to compete at each match. Because they do not
play many matches, much rides on each match. The five play
ers with the lowest overall scores were chosen to go to
Regionals and Nationals. “We took second place at the
NCCAA Division II Southeastern Regional Tournament.
At the NCCAA Division II National Championships, we
shot our best scores ever recorded for a two-day event and
finished third out of seven teams,” Coach McEntire said.
Because the team was small, they became close and
created many memories. Jeremy Caudill said, “The high
light of the season was Aaron Dahl’s legendary throw on
hole 12.” Highlights included Phil Knight’s nailing an inno
cent duck hanging out on the bank of a lake, and the team
improving its score at Nationals by 74 strokes over last year.
