Extra, Extra Credits

                                      junior  Edie  Denny.  “I’m  usually  late  for
                                      class,”
                                        The  only  required  p.e.  course  was
                                      P.E.  500.  This  class  included  nine
                                      weeks  of  swimming  and  nine  weeks  of
                                      health.  It  was  usually  taken  by
                                      freshmen.
                                        As  sophomores,  many  students  took
                                      the  driver’s  ed-first  aid  course.  First  aid
                                      counted  as  two  p.e.  credits.
                                        First  aid  students  learned  many  life­
                                      saving  techniques  such  as  mouth-to-
                                      mouth  resuscitation,  CPR,  and  how  to
                                      prepare  tourniquets.
