Creativity
ave any spare time? Some
H students did, and applied it to
arts and crafts. For senior Leanne o
Kullenberg, arts and crafts came very
easily. Leanne could never sit down
without something in her hands. Her
work varied from wheat weaving to
macrame. She also found time to sew
her own clothes.
Christmas was a busy time for some
people, and for Leanne it was hectic.
For several years she had made all the
different ornaments for her family’s
Christmas tree, which differed from
year to year. She also made the
different decorations around the house
for all the other holidays. Holiday or
not, one could always find the
Kullenberg house prepared to fit the
season.
“I find that making things can always
keep me busy, and I am very
interested in doing crafts and finding
time to do all the fun things,” said
Leanne.
Another active person at Ralston
was junior Rob Ek. Rob was involved
with Thespian (drama) Society, as well
as being an excellent artist. Like
Leanne, Rob enjoyed making things for
his house as well as for himself. He
starred in the AA Review as “Danny
the Spaz” from the t.v. show
“Fridays,” and played Danny Zuko in
the production of “Grease.” He had
also been in the plays “Lil’ Abner,”
“Oklahoma,” “The King and I,”
“Midsummer Night’s Dream,” and the
award-winning “Robber Bridegroom.”
“1 always do things that I feel
comfortable doing. Acting is something
I enjoy doing and 1 will act until I
graduate,” said Rob. “You make a lot
of friends in the plays and really have
a good time”.
