            Undeniably, people are what

make a school. Attitude and spirit des

tine whether or not a school is fun and effec
tive. Sadly, in too many cases, students were
only physically present; just putting in their
time. Of course this was not the case at Ral
ston. The nine hundred and some students put
their best feet forward, and the range of person
ality and creativity knew no bounds in 93- ’94.
A diverse student body filled the halls and
classrooms, games and pep rallies, it was
quite clear when students were surveyed as to
w hich teachers had influenced them most that
m any of the 63 teachers had acted as mentors,
both guiding and leaving impressions on young
student minds. New outcome based gradua
tion requirements prom pted freshmen to be
more aggressive in class choices and com m u
nity service. The purchasing of such things as
walkie-talkies and golf-patrol carts helped to
create a safer school environment. The safe
environment helped each student travel his
ow n path through the year. Both students and
faculty got off on the right foot and ended
        standing tall.
