                                              The  new  code  was  to call  for,  basi­

                                            day.  This  policy  was  one  that  was  al­
                                            ready  stated  in  the  student  handbook.

                                               "At  one  time  we  were  considering
                                            adjusting  the dress code,  but  we  found
                                            that  the  student  population  was  very
                                            angry,” Principal Martha Bruckner said.
                                            "We are here to teach the students, not to
                                            tell them what to wear.”
                                             The issue of the  ‘new and improved"
                                            dress code  found  many  of the students
                                            vocally opposing the idea.
                                             Sophomore  Brendan  Mullin  said,  “I
                                            don't think we should have a dress code.
                                            If you were a gang member, it's not like
                                            changing your underwear would  make
                                            you any different.”
