The Navy R O T C program

was established in 1926. Six

years later, the Marine Corps

joined the Navy in the ROTC

program. John Akimov (with

Philip Botts and another mid­

shipman) said, I plan on becom­

ing an MP in the Marine Corps

and serving for as many years as

possible. Then I want to retire

and work in Zoology.
